Luigi sketch

This is a quick concept for Luigi. My wacom pen was having problems with maintaining pressure sensitivity, so if I can fix that I'll definitely tighten this up. The gold coin was kind of a last minute addition and I'm still wavering on it since I think it's a tad bit big and could probably be moved up a few inches on his chest.

I went with the close cropped mustache which I believe is called a Franz-Josef.
I'm wondering if maybe they have some 'gear' or weapons or something. If we're going to focus on their abilities, etc. I know there was a Luigi's Haunted Mansion game, so maybe he is the one more into, meaning understands, the occult and/or 'darker' magicks than Mario?

Would love to clean this one up, although he feels a little stiff in the upward arm. I think maybe showing him looking up as if he's been examining it and someone walked into the room.

Going to update this with more stuff this afternoon. Quick sketches [or at least should have been quick ;) ]

Very nice title, I was trying to think of one, but this fits perfectly. I'll be adding to this very soon, I have a sketch group session on Wednesday, going to block in as many characters as I can.

Comments:
There are a few things we'll have to keep from the original character so he's not just renaissance era italian guy:
White gloves
The Hat with symbol (we can alter the text type of the M though),
Buttons
(not necessarily overalls, he just needs something there to tie it back to the original character).

Incorporate our own sense of fantasy into the world.
Renaissance era is fine for the brothers because it both A. ties in with our story theme of rebirth, renewal, rebellion. B. Makes everyone look relatively regal and allows us great contrast between Mario before and after his fall from grace in the Mushroom Kingdom, and other characters that fill these roles of rich vs. poor, begger vs. aristocrat.

Inititial visual ideas. Mario.
